Marketing your business is obviously necessary (how will people find you if you don’t?), but it can be daunting and confusing!
What is the best way to market a business? How do I know if I’m doing it right? Should I hire someone to do it for me?
These are all great questions! Each one could probably be its own blog post, to be honest. However, in today’s post we are going to talk about a pretty approachable marketing tactic - blogging.

We can break it down into 3 main reasons why blogging is a key component to online marketing your business.
1. It shows your expertise.
Potential clients can learn about how you know your shit before they ever talk to you when they read a blog post that shows you’re a pro. You can show you know what you’re talking about in many different ways. If you’re a photographer, you could talk about different photo location spots in your area or posing ideas for couples. Each tip and trick you provide shows that you are the expert!
2. It shows your personality.
People buy from people, not businesses. Helping a potential client get to know you helps them feel connected. Blogging gives you the perfect opportunity to share a funny story from a session you did, or just tell a little more about yourself. Letting someone see your personality can be the difference that makes someone inquire with you instead of someone else!
3. Content, content, content!
Blogs are the perfect place to utilize SEO and get found via Google. they give you more content to pin to get found on Pinterest, and you can repurpose blog posts into instagram posts or vice versa. As a Pinterest (and blog) manager, I always try to have my clients have a blog (either managed by me or something they handle themselves) since blogging goes so hand in hand with a solid Pinterest strategy. We’ll go into how blogging and Pinterest are a match made in heaven in another blog post at another time.
Showing up is the first step of marketing your business online, and blogging is another way you can do that!
I know, adding something else to your plate on top of all the other things you need to be doing isn’t terribly appealing. I totally get it! Another gem about blogging is that blog posts are evergreen content. If you provide solid value and make sure your SEO is on point, your blog posts can live on and continue to drive traffic to your site for years. Yep, years. That’s way better than the days your instagram posts last, amiright?
With all of that being said, if you don’t have the time, or you really hate writing, hire someone like me to manage your blog. It really is that simple! Blog managers get to know you to learn your voice, use your knowledge and experience for the content, and do all the heavy lifting for you.
